Brahma is one of the most original and creative contemporary artists. His work shows a mastery of many different ideas and color techniques. Individualistic in style, the figurative concepts and the application of just color compliment each other. Brahma born in India , started painting at an early age. The artist spent his boyhood painting landscapes and still life objects in water colors. In 1986 after high school, he joined in “SHANTHANU’S CHITRA VIDYALAYAM” fine arts postal course. In 1992, he joined Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University (JNTU) Fine Arts College and dropped out after completing third year. Inspired by old masters paintings like “LAST SUPPER”, “LAST JUDGEMENT”, “POETALOST”, he researched extensively (more than one year) on a great subject, and in 1995 did a painting on the theme of JESUS BIRTH and the ESSENCE OF BIBLE.

He possesses a sea of artistic and modern creativeness which can be admired through his artistic brush. His subjects vary from portraits to figurative abstract and complete abstraction. Most of his paintings give a message of universal peace and harmony. One painting, which exemplifies his ideals, painted in 1997 titled “MotherTeresa”, which is a tribute to the sacrifice she made to humanity. In the same year on the eve of 50 years of Indian Independence, he created a masterpiece, “Gift of Independence , which symbolizes the incessant peace and progress in Independent India.

His artistry is within the reach of viewers. He has the credit of being the recipient of many prestigious awards. For his every effort to improve the image of art, he was awarded “CULTURAL ASSOCIATION OSMANIA UNIVERSITY BEST ARTIST2000 MILLENNIUM AWARD”. He was inspired by the legacy and divinity of Pope John Paul, who visited India in 1999. That inspiration led him to do a portrait on Pope John Paul II titled “Praying for Peace amidst Storms”, which was an homage to the greatness of Pope. Later in 2000, he created another work titled, “American Heritage” which is symbolic to American spirit of Liberty and Freedom.

The artist incessantly produced commendable works with various themes and concepts. Motivated by John Keats poem Dream Discerned, the artist painted a young lady riding a horse and retained the title “Dream Discerned” to the painting. The posture of the lady is very erotic, but the treatment given by the artist is very sensuous and subtle.

To paint “Emerald Queen – Queen of Diamonds” the artist took cubistic approach. The artist’s portfolio includes paintings titled “Swan Lake”, “Blind Musician”, “Smoke”, “Flamingos”, “Hungry Tigers”, “Valiant war horse”, and “Law of Jungle”

The artist always responded to social issues through his work. Soon after Sep’ 11 attack, the artist spread his concerns on global terrorism across a huge canvas with much emotion, intensity and thought. His concern took shape in the form of a painting titled “9/11”. The recent natural disaster, which created colossal damage in South East Asia , created quite a stir in the artist, which made him paint a totally abstract work titled “Tsunami”. This painting deviates from the artist’s usual style of contemplating and painting. It is more spontaneous, with intense and vigorous brush strokes.
